With astounding choreography, unforgettable songs and inspirational storytelling, Newsies is a not-to-be-missed, high-energy show for all ages.  Inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City, Jack Kelly hawks the headlines day-in and day-out with countless other newsboys trying to save enough to make his dreams a reality.  New York World publisher, Joseph Pulitzer, realizes he can maximize profits by raising the price of the “papes” and does so without a word to the “Newsies.” Upon seeing Pulitzer’s greed, the newsboys protest and declare a strike against all the publishing giants.  Realizing it will take more than his friends to make a difference, Jack rallies all the “Newsies” in New York City. Through courage, determination, and friendship the “Newsies” are ready to seize the day and take a stand.  Coupled with dazzling choreography, the unforgettable songs are from Academy Award®-winning composer Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas), and include: “Carrying the Banner,” “King of New York,” “Santa Fe” and “Seize the Day.”  Don’t miss this ultimate crowd-pleaser, a Minnesota Regional Premiere, nominated for 8 Tony Awards – Including Best Musical!  Running March 2 through September 29, 2018.  Click Here for tickets or call the box office at 952-934-1525.

April 25 & 26, 2018 - The Fabulous Armadillos Present: Singer/Songwriters - Singers Who Wrote Their Own Songs and Made Them Into Hits - The connection between a singer and the song they wrote themselves is a deep one. Their story is often times told more clearly in a song than they can speak in words. This theme will take a look at some of the best artists of that genre. From yesterday to today, country, folk, pop and rock…artists like Hank Williams and Buddy Holly to Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Diamond, Tom Petty, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Don Henley, and many, many more. With special guests that have their own story to tell, the Armadillos will explore these songs and artists, and you are sure to find a connection to many of these treasured songs. Many of these songs will continue to live on for years past the singer that wrote them in our hearts and minds. Their songs find a way to connect to us all, with not just a hook or an ear worm, but a message, either subtle or distinct that finds it’s way into our DNA. Come join the Fabulous Armadillos and our many special guests for SINGER/SONGWRITERS.
