Now Playing – King Lear - Shakespeare’s epic tragedy - For the first time in more than 20 years the Guthrie will stage Shakespeare’s searing masterpiece. After years of ruling Britain in peace, a respected King Lear decides to relinquish his crown and divide his kingdom among his three daughters. But when their love and loyalty falter, so does Lear’s sanity. King Lear is a gripping portrait of fathers, daughters and a once-mighty ruler thwarted by his own hubris and betrayed by a vanishing mind.  King Lear showcases the Twin Cities’ greatest talent, including Guthrie Theater veterans Nathaniel Fuller and Stephen Yoakam alternating performances in the title role.  Running now through April 2nd Click Here for Tickets or call the Box Office at 612-377-2224.

Now Playing – Rise Up, O Men – You’ve met the ladies, now meet the men!  Sixth in the Church Basement Ladies series, Rise Up, O Men is a brand new musical comedy featuring the men of the church and your favorite church basement ladies who serve them. As these hard-working farmers discuss their scrap lumber piles and benefits of weld vs solder, they unintentionally disrupt the order of the kitchen. But that’s what happens when you let the rooster in the hen house.  Running now through April 8th.  For tickets Call Box Office - 763-553-1600 Ext 1 or Order online:  plymouthplayhouse.com.

Now Playing – MACBETH - Park Square continues its 42nd season on the Andy Boss Stage with a new adaptation of Macbeth, adapted and directed by Jef Hall-Flavin. Following the recent success of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet, the timeless tragedy of palace intrigue and power grabs continues Park Square’s new tradition of reinventing Shakespeare’s canon for modern audiences.  Macbeth (Michael Ooms*) schemes and murders his way to the throne. Set against a shattered mirror, this taut production reveals leadership derailed by self-absorption, equivocation, and seeing things that aren’t really there. Tempted by the prophecies of three wayward sisters, Macbeth’s aim to be King of Scotland compels him into a nightmarish realm of evil, deceit, and murder. Monstrous actions run rampant as he and Lady Macbeth give in to unstoppable drives of savagery and political atrocity.  The original House of Cards, Macbeth is among Shakespeare’s most enduring tragedies, as it investigates the motivations and mayhem at the heart of power-grabbing. Shakespeare’s unnerving tragedy begins and ends with ferocious battles, supernatural horrors, and famously gorgeous poetry.   Running now through April 9th.  Tickets are on sale at the Park Square ticket office, 20 W. Seventh Place, or by phone: 651.291.7005, (12 noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday), or online at www.parksquaretheatre.org.

Now Playing – To Begin With - To Begin With is inspired by an intriguing and little-known work of Charles Dickens called The Life of Our Lord, a retelling of the Biblical Gospels, which he planned to read and perform for his children for the first time on Christmas Eve 1849. He didn’t intend for it to be published, and it wasn’t—until 64 years after his death. To Begin With is a witty, insightful and thoroughly entertaining one-man play that explores why he wrote it. Playwright/director Jeffrey Hatcher offers a fascinating glimpse into the struggles, temperament, and creative process of the famous author. Dickens is played by his great-great-grandson, Gerald Charles Dickens, who brings his unique knowledge of his ancestor’s life and family dynamics to the role. Groups 10+ save! Running now through April 15th at The Historic Wesley Center. Located in downtown Minneapolis at the corner of Marquette and Grant, next to the Convention Center.  Click Here for ticket information or call the box office at 612-455-9501.

Dayton is hot off his shows at the 2015 MN State Fair and appearing in clubs and shows around the USA.  Crowds in Sedona and Scottsdale, AZ sold out the first run of these shows and you’ll want to get your tickets for the Chanhassen Dinner Theater dates ASAP Contact the Box Office: 952.934.1525 or visit www.chanhassendt.com for tickets.

Student Theatre Camp Experience Rises To Top
Chanhassen Dinner Theatres’ renowned summer theatre camp program, CHAN DT MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP, returns this summer with exciting new themes for youths and teens.  Since 1994, over 11,000 kids and teens have learned about the magic of musical theatre as only Chanhassen can do it. This educational camp program is also terrific summertime fun. Kids and teens, ages eight to eighteen, are given opportunities to explore a wide spectrum of musical theatre components including voice, movement, costumes, scenery, stage combat, improv and more -- all taught by professional members of the Chanhassen acting company, designers and choreographers making the CDT student theatre experience rise above other offered theatre camp programs.  Camp sessions are available throughout the summer months for both half and full day, week-long sessions. This makes the perfect gift for grandchildren who love musical theatre or are looking to make new friends and boost confidence. To register or receive more info, call the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres’ box office at 952-934-1525 or go online to www.chanhassendt.com to watch a video and learn more.
